Vegetable oil as Diesel fuel? (not biodiesel)?
Nick C asked:
I 'm who does not speak of plant residue or biodiesel. I 'm speaking of right plant, or pure vegetable oil. On the same stuff that restaurants buy to cook with, but buy yourself before the dirty and over. 50 cents a gallon is typical and will operate in all diesel once on heated (requires a system of two tanks with regular diesel # 2 to start cold.) I have sought the use of WVO (vegetable oil residue) and can be offensive if not filtered well. The biodiesel costs the same as the diesel in my area (Phoenix AZ). That is why SVO (vegetable oil law) is a better choice. Anyone who has actually done this? Not theoretically, but really, can this really be done and it has cost effective for a company with a fleet of domestic service of the 5 trucks? We spend $ 6000 per month on fuel so cheap sounds of what fuels the commodity to be true.

I bought a smores maker and it says to use 2.6 oz chafing fuel, but not to use one with methanol?
Kristen asked:
The problem is that I can 't find one that has not methanol. I 'VE that the notes all summer and can' discovery of a tonne I did a search for Sterno.com to ask that but their place is on the blank space and the company got the creator of smore has not addy… The sternum says that I got 3 percent of methanol. This is safe to use when you '' re rubbery candies and soft roasting directly above it? If not, everyone knows that one is safe and where can I get?

Has the USPS thought about changing fuel type for all its fleet?
frane_pe asked:
The postal rate increase basically because the price of oil (petroleum) increase. The USPS should perhaps change the type of consumption from oil (if using that. I do not know what to use them) to other alternatives such as biodiesel, ethanol, butanol vegetable oil and natural gas, biomass and even chemically stored electricity (batteries and Fuel cells). are not saying I have to change the entire fleet. engines can adapt to be able to move with green technology. and perhaps with the drop of prices to change 37c ?????

Is ethanol an economically feasible fuel (energy) alternative?
camerabuff asked:
If we consider the cost of energy production of ethanol from corn (seeds, fertilizer, fuel for tractors, the cost of fermentation, transportation, etc.), ethanol is economically feasible? Or take more energy to produce one gallon of ethanol that can be obtained by using a gallon of ethanol as fuel? The same question could be made about hydrogen.

Energy released from burning methanol?
Jason K asked:
Methanol is used as fuel in automobiles fun. In a stroke of resistance, a car used 24.5L methanol 420m travel. If the density of methanol is 0,791 kg / L and the products of combustion are carbon dioxide and water vapor, determine the energy released by burning methanol in the race. (Answer inside (a 10 x ^ b) kJ, corrects to 3 significant figures.
