anyone else travel in their business? is the price of fuel getting into there profit?

possess a tractor / trailer and a race mainly from South Carolina to California. So we get that rate for miles with the company we rented we are not risen much. (including fuel surcharge that) and the price of diesel fuel go up as it is our profit is getting lower and lower. Wanted some owner / operators to exit the market. The only thing that helps is our truck and trailer is paid for.
