ethanol fuel
yumchu2001 asked:

the new ethanol gas has been frowned upon by hawaii drivers, poor performance, sluggish, less mileage. Is it safe and should I use Fuel injector cleaners with the ethanol blended gasoline? i have a 1999 Acura CL, i called Acura and they said that fuel additives work different for all users (some notice a difference others dont)

Fuel injector cleaners can be good, but constant use is not
suggested, as your injectors, especially the needles will be
    worn down a lot quicker.

10% ethanol isn’t too bad. It’s safe and you lose only a little power. Don’t use fuel injector cleaners too often, that’s my opinion. Use it one to three times a year. I trust injector/fuel system cleaners from Lucas, Marvel Mystery Oil, Chevron, and Valvoline.

We’ve been using 10% Ethanol gas in my state for a couple of decades. It works fine. Gasoline already contains detergents so you don’t need to add FI cleaner.
