How does bacteria survive in microbial fuel cell?

I discovered that microbial fuel cell that the means we use the electron produced by bacteria using glucose as their food to generate electricity. But they produce the electron and proton in order to live, as the manufacture of protein, moving, playing. using the electrons means that we are literally sucking their "force" of life;! So, how could they ever survive?

    bacteria has the ability to not only use glucose as a food source, but if there is no glucose, they can use other things like ammonia or nitrates and other things, i forgot,,they evolved like that, , so carbon , like the carbon is glucose, is not their only possible energy source,
