Is there a safe blend of methanol to gasoline that won\’t damage the plastic or rubber in a regular gas engine?

methanol fuel
didder_93 asked:

I was wondering if I can mix methanol and gasoline in my engine to improve my power and fuel economy. I read that the methanol can damage internal components of my engine. Is there a particular relationship that can unite the methanol and gas and still be fair?

  1. Pedro S Says:

e 85= 85% gas ..15 % alc….its safe but alc is poor fuel…it costs about a dollar a gallon more then gas…govt pays differnce plus you only get 2/3 as many miles with alc…example if u get 30 mpg on gas u get 20 mpg on pure alc..
