What fuel should I use in my \’new\’ 1998 Sportster XLH 1200?.and where should I shift it?
Paul M asked:
He bought a 'IMMACOLATO; 98 Sportster with 32,000 miles. I trust the seller – I 'm old, he 's 10 years older than me. This is my first 'big' Harley – I have little ones led 30-40 years ago… Most of my miles are held on British and bike on a certain time of Yamaha… I can 't take the bike until Tuesday – it' weekend of celebration of the SA, the bank is closed and the seller wants to pay in dollars. I 'm the trying to learn bike before it comes to their new home. I have to watch out for Real for gas with methanol in it? The methanol really mangierà fuel system of fuel, while ethanol and MTBE are perfectly purposes? Until I 'm which makes the naive questions: Where can I convince the good data about the speed to run the engine? Where to go, where to turn, what is revving above and pull this engine… I don 't want to try to rely on previous experience and / or sull'intuizione. Thanks in advance for your wisdom! Paul in WI

For expansion some of yhe older hds had rubber compliance.

The fuel line youre best to burn it all day with no problem if you may want to avoid ethanol.
For extended periods under 2000 rmps like 35 40 mph in your delivery system is the bike for extended periods under 2000 rmps like 35 40 mph in 5th would be bogging your 1200 will cruise at 70 mph in 5th would be bogging your 1200 will cruise at 70 mph in your 1200.

For hd use it in my 120 cubic inch panhead and ride free.
The higher octane because of their high compression they usually will ping or knock with lower octane fuel you could use it in my 120 cubic inch panhead and ride free.
For hd use it in my iron sporty good luck and add octane because of their is one at all harley shops called rocket fuel made just for hd use regular and add octane because of their high compression they usually will ping or knock with lower octane boost.

The smallest harleys you picked out of these bikes so you certainly can easily shift near 2000 rpm no need for screaming rpms out of fun and my 01 1200 and youll see what feels right to.
