What happens if you put E-85 Ethanol gas in a car that is not flex fuel approved?

I just wondered what would happen to your car if you use the fuel of ethanol E-85 gas in it instead of pounds normal, if your car is not approved for use? What will your engine? Anyone tried this?

    The ethanol will eat up your fuel lines, oxidize the aluminum, dry and crack your oil seals for starters.
