Methanol and nitro-methane blends are often used in top-fuel drag racing.
Ethanol is used with passanger-car fuel and has similar issues to Methanol. Fuel system deterioration, slightly less fuel mileage, slightly more expensive than straight gas. But it burns a bit cleaner and is a renewable energy source.
