What types of fuel can be used in my 1982 240d other then wvo and bio or regular diesel?

diesel fuel
///// asked:

I would be able to use something other then diesel fuel without modifying the engine majorly. If a small change is necessary as the list is made? I have heard that this can be done with kerosene. Is this true? What type of fuel would be cheaper? Is there editions of performance with these different fuels? Thanks for your help.
