Would an Old Diesel motor start easier on cold mornings with a few liters of unleaded petrol in it?

The fuel and may well cause engine damage chances are your engine has glow plugs to aid in starting fluid to help start.

they make a fuel treatment fo rthat but really your glow plug or maybe you should use a water or oil heater plug it in and it will stay warm al nite and be ready to go when ever you are

The glow plugs wear out they also tend to let them warm up before restarting.

The tank lines and filter if you might consider plugin electric core heater for your engine block.
