Using ethanol in non-flexible fuel engines
As I own one car with standard spark-ignition (petrol) engine, I was wondering if I could fuel it with ethanol. The theory of using ethanol fuel in petrol engines is simple: it should work, if you add more fuel to the mixture. Ethanol contains considerable amount of oxygen and thus needs less air to be burnt fully. But will it work in practice as well? Is it safe to use ethanol, or does it dissolve some rubber parts as biodiesel does?
